Growing up in multiple countries and traveling through even more, our Global Muse Gretchen Kuppers discovered an immense love of fashion while acting and modeling. Later, she transitioned into serving as a style, Image and luxury beauty Consultant and launched into creative directing and fashion show production. Gretchen became a champion of the art of the hunt for unique collections with great value and longevity. Over the years, she conceptualized her ultimate passion project: the boutique of her dreams, designed around her favorite muses she grew up admiring. She was hugely inspired by these Mavens not only for their distinctive style, but also for their grace and compassion in service towards the less fortunate. Thus creating one of our main purposes…Luxury that pays it forward.

With an ever-growing love affair with the iconic glamour of the bygone eras and their eternal influence, Gretchen opened her boutique in Annapolis, Maryland; a store that she had always wished existed there and well anywhere. She believes that Belle Âme & Muse will feed an empty market in Annapolis, (and perhaps even globally one day), serving as an inclusive and comprehensive source of inspiration, while catering to its denizens with investment-worthy deals on exclusive luxury designer accoutrements and other iconic goods. She believes that every woman is a Muse in her own right and should celebrate her individuality and, as Coco Chanel liked to say, “keep her head, heels and standards high”. At Muse you can revel in a well rounded curated collection, set in a European Chic atmosphere, while investing in sustainable luxury, which offers both the classics and what's fresh out of Vogue. Do you have a special event or need and update in your wardrobe, she will be glad to put her collective experience and enthusiasm to task just for you. Private and group appointments are also available.

Additionally, a portion of our proceeds every month are donated to a nominated cause or member of our community , which Gretchen hopes to grow with the collaboration between our team and customers, promoting both good and glamour; a virtue which Gretchen encapsulated in the name of the store – Belle Âme & Muse, (pronounced bell-ahm) meaning "beautiful soul" and Muse in French.
